How To Stay Fit on the Go

Traveling gives you the opportunity to explore new areas, taking in different cultures and experiences in the process. Eating out more than usual will take you out of your normal routine. It can be difficult to stay on top of fitness goals with all the hustle and bustle of being on the road. Take advantage when you can and follow these helpful tips on how to stay fit on the go!

Take The Stairs 

Get those extra steps in any chance you can. If you have the option to take the stairs instead of an elevator or escalator, go for it! This will help you burn the excess calories from your trip as well as getting your heart rate up and your blood pumping! It may take an extra minute or two to get where you’re going but it will be worth it in the long term with it’s awesome health benefits. 

Plan Your Meals 

Plan out when and where you’ll eat your meals accordingly. This can give you an idea of the amount of calories you’ll be consuming, allowing you to plan your intake. Doing this also gives you the chance to look ahead at what your food options are so you can choose healthier options

Don’t Overeat

Eating out at different restaurants and trying new foods is expected while travelling. However, it’s important to do so in moderation and not over consume food that isn’t good for your overall health. Try to stay within your daily recommended calorie intake.

Little tricks like substituting fries with salad and getting water instead of soda. This can work well in the long run in helping you stay on top of you dietary goals!

Body Weight Exercises 

Do simple exercises like push ups, lunges, and squats in your hotel room to get a quick and easy workout in. You can do this in the morning before a busy day or when you get some down time in between activities. This will help get you energized and ready to take on the adventures for the day! 

Stay Hydrated 

Drink plenty of water and monitor your fluid intake during your travels. This will help you feel more full and limit how much you eat during meals. Traveling makes it harder to stay on top of drinking water when you’re constantly moving around and are on vacation mode. Help your body and drink water throughout the day.
