Homemade Spiked Eggnog

Nothing will get you dancing at an awesome holiday party than having a glass or two of some homemade spiked eggnog. A traditional winter beverage, this has long been a favorite of many, and once paired with rum a favorite to many more! This homemade recipe from Copykat is a great way to enjoy a delicious beverage and have a good time at any holiday party!

This eggnog is great as is, if you don’t want any alcohol in it simply just remove the steps with the rum and you’ll be good to go!

INGREDIENTS
  • 6 eggs
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 cups half and half
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup rum, bourbon, whiskey, or brandy
  • Grated nutmeg or cinnamon for serving
INSTRUCTIONS
  1. In a large mixing bowl, beat the eggs with an electric mixer until they are creamy and lightened in color. Add the sugar and stir with a spoon until all the sugar is dissolved. Add the half-and-half, heavy cream, and vanilla. Stir to combine.
  2. Strain the mixture into an airtight container. Add the liquor and stir to combine. Store in the refrigerator until ready to serve.
  3. When ready to serve, top each glass of eggnog with some grated nutmeg or cinnamon.
